Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a yearly, national level competitive platform, initiated by MHRD in year 2017, to inculcate the culture of innovation in Technology students. Teams from all over India participate in the event and provide solutions to problems. The problem statements in SIH 2023 are categorised in 58 hardware and 181 software challenges, suggested by various government bodies, including State Governments, Central Ministries, Industry experts, and innovative students. A special category i.e., student innovation that covers topics such as smart education, disaster management, blockchain, and cybersecurity is also introduced.
